How are the contagion effects of mass-based disintegration transmitted through domestic elites and domestic discourse?
Work package 2 on domestic discourse analyses how the contagion effects of mass-based disintegration are transmitted through domestic elites and domestic discourse. It studies how the domestic debate about the EU changes as a result of Brexit by using newspaper articles from a selection of countries about the EU (WP 2a). Further, it explores how politicians in the selected countries use the Brexit example in their discourse about the EU by analyzing how often they mention Brexit and the possibility of an exit of their own country from the EU on Twitter and Facebook.
